Topshop fall/winter preview

As promised, here are the still life pictures of Topshop's new fall/winter collection! The items should be available from July 5th. There seem to have used a lot of interesting fabrics for this collection. Personally, I love the first leather jacket, the first skirt and the white dress. The spiked jacket is pretty cool as well. One of the must-have pieces in your closet for this summer is definitely the jumpsuit, or the shorter version aka the playsuit. They're the perfect example of casual fun. The playfull looks of a dress mixed with the comfortableness of pants or shorts, now how great is that?

Burberry in 3D

Burberry has jumped on the 3D train. After the first worldwide 3D catwalkshow by designer Christopher Bailey in February, there's now also a 3D ad campaign. And no, you don't need glasses to view the campaign, you can just rotate the pictures by 180°. And you can make the models walk by just clicking the button.

Kate Moss for Topshop s/s part 2

Kate Moss is adding new pieces to her Topshop summer collection. Again the pieces are inpired by her own style: vintage and bohemian chic. The added pieces will be available from 22 July at London's Oxford Circus store, Brompton Road store and topshop.com

Chanel's fall 2010 makeup collection

For this fall Peter Philips (global creative director of Chanel makeup) chose to create the new collection focusing on Chanel's blush, Les Joues Contrastes. The result is another stunning piece of artistry. Looks like some items are going to sell out quickly resulting in major price tags on Ebay, like last years Le Vernis Jade nail polish.

Canvas Birkin bag: budget friendly or totally illegal?

While surfing the web, I stumbled upon these canvas tote bags with a picture of the Hermès Birkin bag printed on them. They're made in Taipei (Taiwan) for only $45 each, and there's already a waiting list for 3 months! According to Bag Snob Tina, only 6 bags can be made per hour. I personally think they're cute and fun, but I wonder how Hermès feels about this one.. What do you think of the eco-friendly Birkin wannabe?

Did some accessory shopping..

I thought it was about time that I gave my accessorycloset an update. What you see in the pictures is a result. I couldn't resist to buy some clothes that crossed my path along the way. Believe me, I tried.

Dsquared2 spine shoes

Meet my current obsession, the spine sandals and booties from the fall/wintercollection of Dsquared2. I die!! It was instant love. When I first saw them, I thought: so high-and-freakishly-hot, but mainly; genius!!

Great news for DAY Birger et Mikkelsen fans! After years of selling their clothing online through Net-a-Porter, the brand is now opening their own webshop. It will go live on August 1st. Besides the womenswear, you will also be able to buy the menswear, interior and new accessory line.

Louboutin in Wonderland

Christian Louboutin did it again. He created a wonderful fall fairytale-like collection that makes fashionistas like me drool. Louboutin is known for his sky-high heels with red soles and the nice price tags that come with them. This collection offers some lovely (fake-fur) booties, sandals, pumps and peeptoes.

Anyone who watched 'The Rachel Zoe Project' already knew this was coming. Rachel Zoe is expanding the RZ empire with her own fashion label. The Rachel Zoe Collection is set to launch in fall next year and will include clothing, shoes and accessories with plans to later branch into interiors.

Humanoid opens webshop

The Dutch brand Humanoid exists 29 years and to celebrate, they recently opened a webshop. The brand is often compared to Comme des Garçons and Maison Martin Margiela because of it's nice cut and choice of comfortable materials that feel like a second skin. Humanoid's lovely dresses, leggings, jackets and shoes are now only a click away!

Spotlight: Fashionology.nl

I discovered this webshop a little while ago and I wanted to share it with you. Fashionology.nl is a Dutch webshop offering very cool pieces of jewelry. All items are silver-colored and prices go from €5 to €75, which is very affordable if you ask me.

The pieces look good on anyone. If your look is kind of tough or street, the pieces will only compliment it. If your look is more romantic and girly, you can use accessories like this to toughen it up a little. That they ship worldwide is always great news. Net-a-Porter lanceert online magazine

Nog meer nieuws vanuit het kamp van Net-a-Porter. De online luxeretailer heeft ook een online magazine. Het bevat o.a. celebritylooks samen-gesteld uit het gamma van de site. Je kunt het magazine ook vanop je Ipad of smartphone bekijken en vervolgens onmiddellijk de producten bestellen. Veel geld spenderen was nog nooit zo makkelijk. De shopaholics zijn bij deze gewaarschuwd!

Net-a-Porter lanceert menswear site

Ter ere van haar 10de verjaardag opent de online luxeretailer Net-a-Porter een internetshop voor hem. Mr Porter zal herencollecties van diverse topdesigners aanbieden zoals Burberry, Ralph Lauren en Lanvin vanaf januari 2011. Men kan er ook terecht voor stijladvies.

Niet enkel Chanel bezorgde menig modeliefhebber een fashiongasm bij de vertoning van hun resort-collectie 2011. StyleLab selecteerde enkele stukken uit de resortcollecties van o.a. Carolina Herrera, YSL, Jason Wu, Max Azria, enz..

Zara opent webwinkel

Zara zal haar collecties vanaf 2 september ook online aanbieden. Iets wat ik alleen maar kan toejuichen! De service zal beschikbaar zijn voor Frankrijk, Duitsland, Italië, Spanje, Portugal en Groot-Brittannië op zowel computers als smartphones. Op termijn zullen er meer landen aan de lijst worden toegevoegd. Let's keep our fingers crossed for the Benelux!

Lady Gaga's 'Alejandro'

De nieuwste clip van Lady Gaga 'Alejandro' is er! Geen vrolijke regenboogkleuren deze keer zoals bij 'Telephone', maar grauwe zwart/wit en grijstinten en een creepy sfeer. We zien Gaga met een platinablonde bob o.a. als weduwe en als non met sensuele danspasjes en bijhorende Gaga outfits. Machinegeweer beha anyone?

CFDA Awards 2010

Gisteren werden opnieuw de Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards uitgereikt in New York, alias de Oscars van de modewereld. De belangrijkste awards gingen naar Marc Jacobs (Designer van het jaar voor vrouwen), Rag & Bone (Designer van het jaar voor mannen) en Michael Kors (Lifetime Achievement Award). Verder ging Ralph Lauren voor de 2de keer aan de haal met de populariteitsprijs en werd de pas overleden Alexander McQueen gehuldigd met een Special Tribute Award.

MTV Movie Awards 2010

Twilight: New Moon was hands down de grote winnaar van deze editie van de MTV Movie Awards. De cast kaapte onder meer de award van Beste Film, Beste Vrouwelijke Rol (Kristen Stewart), Global Superstar & Beste Mannelijke Rol (Robert Pattinson) en Beste Kus weg.

Shakira in Roberto Cavalli op WK

Shakira zal aanstaande vrijdag het WK voetbal 2010 openen gehuld in een outfit van de Italiaanse ontwerper Roberto Cavalli. De Latina zal er haar laatste nieuwe single "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)" brengen, wat tevens ook het officiële lied van het WK 2010 is.

Zara lookbook juni 2010

Wat voor moois kun je deze maand van Zara verwachten? Dat zie je in het Zara lookbook van juni. Het ziet er in ieder geval naar uit dat de konijntjes het van de katten hebben overgenomen deze maand. Shorts, witte jurkjes en stoere blazers in overvloed! Go get 'em!

In de kleerkast van een topmodel

Topmodellen moeten er altijd en overal piekfijn uitzien. Maar denk niet dat ze daarom altijd hun hele hebben en houden overal met zich meezeulen. Naomi Campbell heeft daar een uitstekende oplossing voor. Ze beschikt namelijk over verschillende kleerkasten in New York Londen en Moskou. Als dat niet handig is! En ja hoor, Oprah krijgt alles voor mekaar! Ze mocht als enige een kijkje nemen in haar wardrobe in Moskou, en jij nu dus ook!

Mango herfst/winter collectie

Ik geef toe, het is nog wat vroeg om al te denken aan wat je zult dragen in het najaar, maar toch wou ik deze preview je niet laten ontgaan. De Spaanse kledingketen Mango stelde vorige week zijn herfst/winter collectie voor in het stadsteather van Madrid onder het goedkeurend oog van pers en Spaanse celebs.

Trend: nude

De voorbije seizoenen was nude al zeer populair  wat accessoires en make-up betreft, en dit seizoen vindt nude ook zijn weg naar de kleding. Alles van zachte huidtinten tot aardekleuren zijn nu helemaal hot. Nudes worden beschouwd als een neutrale kleur, dus je kunt ze mooi met andere kleuren combineren. Houdt wel je make-up zeer neutraal, het moet er haast uitzien alsof je er geen op hebt. Veel make-up merken hebben prachtige nude collecties speciaal voor deze trend ontwikkeld. Vraag ernaar bij je drogist!

Hoe nude toepassen zonder er naakt uit te zien?

Het gaat er hem vooral om dat je de juiste stoffen kiest. Nude stukken mogen vooral niet aansluitend zijn. Ze komen het best tot hun recht als ze losjes rond het lichaam gedrapeerd zijn zoals je op de foto hierboven kunt zien.

Een kijkje in Julia's kleerkast

Na socialite Olivia Palermo in april en it-girl/model Daisy Lowe in mei is het nu de beurt aan Julia Restoin Roitfeld om dagelijks haar outfits te mogen posten op de site van de Britse Vogue. Als dochter van Carine Roitfeld, hoofdredactrice van de Franse Vogue, kan het niet anders dat die voor een grote invloed heeft gezorgd op haar kledingstijl.

Trends voor je nagels

Een make-up must voor de zomer is een leuk kleurtje op je nagels. We kijken even naar de trends van dit seizoen.

Matchende kleuren zijn uit. Dit seizoen mag je je vinger- en teennagels in een verschillende kleur lakken. Je nagels mogen niet langer zijn dan je vingertoppen. De trend momenteel is matte nagellak. Deze zijn verkrijgbaar bij OPI, Koh en Revlon, of je kiest voor een nagellak met een matte topcoat erover (verkrijgbaar bij Essie: Matte about you). Deze trend zet zich verder in het najaar, dus het is wel degelijk de moeite om hierin te investeren.

Object gets Carried away!

Het Scandinavische label Object heeft ter ere van de nieuwe Sex and the City film een collectie ontworpen die volledig geïnspireerd is op SATC en het leven in New York.

In tegenstelling tot de creaties in de film zijn deze kledingstukken heel erg betaalbaar. De prijzen variëren van €24,95 voor een topje met corsage tot € 59,95 voor het zalmroze jurkje met ruches.

De Object Sex and the City collectie is vanaf mei in een select aantal winkels verkrijgbaar zijn, waaronder de VILA brandstores.

Object maakt deel uit van de Scandinavische groep Bestseller, waar ook Vero Moda, Only, Jack&Jones, Vila en Pieces onder vallen. VILA opende onlangs nog zijn eerste Belgische brandstore in de Steenstraat 96 in Brugge.

Gespot: Givenchy lookalike jurk

Prachtige creatie van Givenchy, die kruislings gedrapeerde chiffon jurk met schouderversieringen. En prachtig gekopieerd door French Connection. (Weer zo'n Britse keten die jammergenoeg nog geen vestiging heeft op Belgische bodem.) De stof is van viscose, de kleur is iets lichter en de schouderversieringen uit ander materiaal, maar ah, alsof iemand daar op let. Voor slechts €140 is hij helemaal de jouwe.
