New York Fashion Week Report

Follow H&M on their trip to the big apple and catch the atmosphere of New York Fashion Week!

Heidi Klum quits Victoria's Secret

'Head angel' and supermodel Heidi Klum is quitting Victoria's Secret after 13 years. She said she's hanging up her wings and won't be walking in the November show. "All good things have to come to an end. I will always love Victoria's Secret. It has been an absolutely amazing time."

The German beauty started modeling for the company in the late 1990s, becoming 'Head Angel' in 2002, and has been a regular fixture of the underwear firm's campaigns and popular catwalk events. She stole the show at last year's fashion bash when she strode out wearing revealing lingerie just five weeks after giving birth to baby Lou.

Sources say she's busy with her TV show "Project Runway" and a clothing line. Her exit means a new top angel will have to be crowned. With Miranda Kerr and Doutzen Kroes both pregnant, the chief wings could go to Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrósio or one of the new generation of Angels; Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Candice Swanepoel, Chanel Iman or Erin Heatherton.

Who's you're favorite to be the next 'Victoria's Secret Head Angel'?

Troubles in the Zoe camp: part II

Yesterday, the news came that Rachel Zoe is splitting up with her assistant and "The Rachel Zoe Project" co-star Brad Goreski. "I love Rachel and she's taught me everything I know. But there's a point where either I do it now or I'll never know what it's like to spread my wings and soar." Brad told People magazine. And it was amicable! Rachel says of the 33-year old's departure, "We couldn't stop hugging and we couldn't stop crying," she says. "He did this with such class and elegance. And I get it. I just told him, 'I'm here for you always."

What's new pussycat?

With cat-eye looks on the runway, and cat-inspired collections like 'Fabulous Felines' from MAC, it's no doubt cats are a huge inspiration for makeup looks this fall. Therefore, it didn't take long before actual cat-shaped products hit the market. Meow!

Ultraflesh Black Panther Mascara
Ultraflesh is a new makeup brand by beauty product guru Robin Coe-Hutshing. The Panther mascara is the brand's first launch and claims to provide the blackest, most-defined lashes, ever. The mascara will be available at Sephora for $26 starting October 1st.

Paul & Joe Cat Lipsticks

The new Fall collection of Paul & Joe Beauté has 3 limited edition lipsticks sculptured like cats. The package is printed in the latest fabric print of the Paul & Joe fashion collection of fall/winter 2010. The lipsticks offer a clear color and creamy texture, together with a champagne-y shimmer. The colors are 66 Clair de Lune, 67 Over the Moon and 68 Moon Shadow. I think they're really cute but it would be a shame to actually use them! They're available at Urban Outfitters for $25 or via ASOS.com for £16.

Lauren Conrad gets new reality show

Looks like somebody missed the spotlight. The former Hills star Lauren Conrad, who dropped out of the faux-reality show because she was getting too much attention, is back on a brand new MTV reality show. In the show, the camera's will follow her during the launch of her newest fashion line. "I am so excited to be rejoining the MTV family," she told MTV News. "The new project will follow me as I develop my new contemporary line and also touch on my other businesses."

Brussels Louise Night

Bring out your dark side with Mac's Venomous Villains

Back in May I told you MAC was going to release a limited edition Fall collection in collaboration with Disney, and now the products have finally been revealed! The 'Venomous Villains' collection is divided into 4 parts, each featuring a villain from the Disney films: Cruella De Vil of '101 Dalmations', the Evil Queen from 'Snow White', Maleficient from 'Sleeping Beauty' and Dr. Facilier from 'The Princess and the Frog'.

NYFW s/s 2011: recap

With New York Fashion Week s/s 2011 behind us, it's time for a 'little' recap of some of my favorite looks that were presented. I picked 4 looks from each designer, which was sometimes really hard if the collection just simply blew my mind or on the other hand, if the looks were just so-so. Some designers didn't even make it because their collections were kind of a disappointment. Or maybe my expectations were just too high? Anyway, be prepared for some serious mouth-watering eyecandy after the jump!

If You Have to Cry, Go Outside

I bought this book just a few months back, and I can't believe I haven't done a post about it! 'If You Have to Cry, Go Outside, and Other Things Your Mother Never Told You' lets you in on the life of Kelly Cutrone and is, at the same time, a guidebook on how to survive in one of the most competitive industries in the world, the fashion business.

For those of you who have watched 'The Hills', 'The City' and/or 'Kell On Earth', Kelly Cutrone needs no introduction. As the owner of People's Revolution, a PR company specialised in fashion, she guided 'The Hills' stars Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port while they were taking their first steps in the fashion industry.

H&M Fall Fashion

Yesterday, you could see a quick preview of H&M's Fall Fashion in the trends video. These looks really make me long for fall, even though I'm more of a summer person. I really love the flirty dresses combined with rough leather jackets and trousers that make sure you stay warm. There are some military inspired looks as well, like the black military jacket and a lot of khaki pieces. The looks kind of show a fun way of how you can play with different colors during the colder season.

Sneak Peek: A Tartan Tale by MAC

Here's a first glimpse at the Holiday 2010 collection by MAC called 'A Tartan Tale'. The collection has a Scottish feel if you look at the packaging, and a lot of items seem to be repromotes. A Tartan Tale is said to be released on the 28th of October in the US/Canada and in November in Europe.

Lanvin for H&M lipsticks

No doubt we are all anxiously waiting for the Lanvin x H&M collection to be revealed. But there's more to the story! Besides the Lanvin for H&M clothing line, they will also release a limited edition lipstick line

This will be the first time for Lanvin to launch a makeup line. What colors will be featured in the collection is still unknown but if we look at past Lanvin fashion shows, we see a palette of nudes, natural pinks and bright reds, so I'm guessing we should be expecting some of that. More info will be revealed soon!

Zara September TRF lookbook

Spotlight: Maje

Another brand that captured my heart during my Lille trip a little while ago is Maje, a cool Parisian label from designer Judith Milgrom. The designs are simple, but always capture the very essence of femininity. Maje is often compared to Sandro, that other French brand I discussed before, due to it's style, target audience and price tag. The label follows the trends closely. We see double-breasted jackets, a lot of black, grey, gold, red and browns, leopard prints, leather, lace, fur, shearling and minimalism as the red thread through the collection.

Lanvin for H&M fashion shoot

Last week I informed you about the Lanvin for H&M collection that will be released on November 23rd. We still don't know what the clothes look like, but what we do know is that H&M favorite Natasha Poly will be starring in the campaign together with Bruno Kladar. Unfortunately the clothes are censored in the clip, so we'll just have to be patient. The video also says we'll be able to watch the fashion show on hm.com on November 2nd at 8h.

Flower-to-Flower by OPI

Flower-to-Flower is part of the Summer Flutter collection by OPI, that consists of 4 colors. The other 3 colors are Wing It, Catch Me In Your Net and Flit a Bit. I immediately fell in love with this bubblegum shimmery pink color when I saw a couple of swatches online so I had to have it. I decided to pick it up on my London trip at the OPI nail bar in Selfridges.

Forever 21 is coming to Belgium!

O-M-G. I just got the news that Forever 21 is coming to Belgium! Forever 21 is an American retail brand that you can compare to New Look, Topshop and River Island, in other words, trends hot off the catwalk translated into cheap high street items. This is truly music to my ears. Forever 21 will be opening 2 stores next year in the Nieuwstraat in Brussels and in the Meir in Antwerp. They're also opening a store in London by the end of this year.

(Faux) fur

One of the trends this season is fur, but more importantly, fake fur! If even Karl Lagerfeld can use fake fur for the Chanel show, others are sure to follow. It looks just as beautiful, it's just as warm and no animals have to suffer for it. Now how great is that?

Zara September womans' lookbook

With all the H&M x Lanvin fuss, Zara got a little bit out of the picture. But they shouldn't be because today is the launch of the new Zara website and the start of shopping Zara online! Well, at least for some lucky countries. We'll just have to sit and wait 'til we can enjoy it too. In the meantime, why don't you have a look at the new September lookbook and check out the new goodies Zara has in store..

Lanvin x H&M

It's official. The next designer to be releasing a collection with H&M is  Lanvin! I guess they couldn't wait anymore to reveal it because numerous people guessed it already. The collection will be designed by artistic director Alber Elbaz and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver.

Brian Atwood to launch lower-priced line

Shoe designer Brian Atwood closed a deal with the Jones Apparel Group to launch a contemporary footwear and accessories collection. The line will go by the name of B Brian Atwood and will feature shoes priced between $200 and $400, as well as boots around $600.

"I look forward to translating my design aesthetic and guarantee of high-quality, sexy footwear for a larger audience," Atwood said in a release.

The shoe line will be available in select department stores as of fall next year. For the handbags and jewelry we'll have to wait until 2012.

The September Issue

September, the month of fashion frenzy, is back! This month is not only very important for designers because of Fashion Week, but it's also very important for every fashion magazine worldwide. To show you what it's like to work for the most coveted magazine in the world during the most important time of the year (in fashion), a documentary was filmed, called The September Issue. During this film, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her team are followed as they struggle to write Vogue's largest and heaviest number of all times (840 pages and almost 5 pounds), the 2007 September issue.
